CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 POLICY

VISION WILL DO ITS UTMOST TO PROTECT THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF ITS STAFF AND ENSURE CONTINUITY OF SERVICE TO ITS VALUED CUSTOMERS

General

We will review the latest updates as issued by the Government Chief Medical Officer on a daily basis and remain up to date with health advice as published by the UK and global health authorities.

Our emergency response measures will be aligned according to the severity of the situation and appropriate plans are in place.

Awareness

All staff throughout our UK and Global offices have been made aware of the symptoms of coronavirus and have been given clear and detailed instruction on:

  • What to do if somebody is showing symptoms
  • How to go about seeking medical advice if they believe they could be infected
  • Detailed daily procedures to prevent transmission of the virus

 

Workplace Policy – Active Procedures

  • All staff will be encouraged to wash their hands regularly and thoroughly. Hand sanitiser will also be stationed around the premises. Hand washing instructions will be published alongside good general hygiene measures.
  • All field sales staff will be provided with personal hand sanitiser.
  • Desks/telephones, keyboards and work stations will be cleaned with disinfectant at the beginning and end of each working day/shift. Cleaning provisions will be well stocked.
  • Workstations will be positioned at least 1 metre apart.
  • Warehouse staff will be placed on specific shifts. Staff on opposing shifts will not meet during shift changeover.
  • Communal areas/items regularly touched by multiple people will be cleaned each day. This will include all door handles, hand rails kitchens and toilets.
  • Touch points on any shared equipment such as fork lift trucks, pallet trucks, company vehicles etc. will be wiped down per change of user.
  • The temperature of each member of staff will be checked (upon consent) daily as they enter the building. Any person with an elevated temperature will be sent home immediately with appropriate advice.
  • Any person developing symptoms during working hours must report immediately to their line manager.
  • Any person developing symptoms over the weekend will call a dedicated number at Vision and will remain at home.
  • Business travel will be limited. All international travel will be cancelled.
  • Handouts will be given to all staff detailing all procedures, advice and contact numbers.

Additional plans are in place to align with the severity of the threat. This will include:

  • Home working plans
  • Issue of appropriate hardware resources e.g. laptops
  • Closure of communal areas – kitchen/canteens
  • Restriction of movement between floors/premises
