Vision Social Responsibilities

Vision Support Services are committed to corporate social responsibility and also see the importance of investing in local and global charities. At a recent Annual Staff Conference, Vision hosted a Dragon’s Den style charity event. Staff volunteered to present to the board of ‘Dragons’ why their chosen charity should scoop £1000. After the presentation our very own Vision Dragons grilled each member further on their cause and why it should be awarded the prize. All staff at the conference was asked to vote for their winner. The overall winner received £1000 for their chosen charity with the other three entries being awarded £250 each for theirs. The charities were as follows:

Julie Cawood – Sales Director

Julie Cawood, Sales Director for Whitaker Services, pitched for Kids at School in Nepal and was awarded the overall prize of £1000 for the charity. The Kids at School in Nepal Charity builds classrooms, provides clean water facilities and installs sanitation at government schools, to extend and improve educational opportunities for children in rural central Nepal.

After being awarded the money for the charity Julie said: “The Vision’s Dragons’ Den is a fabulous way to raise funds for your chosen charity. As you can imagine, the Kids At School In Nepal Committee are absolutely over the moon and we can now start making plans for the flooring, plastering, light well, desks and chairs at the school I will be involved in. Thank you to those who voted and thank you to the Vision Board for the amazing opportunity and for their generosity!”

All charities presented on the day were very worthy causes and Vision are delighted they could give some money to each to make a difference. The Vision Board urge more staff to come forward next time the event is run to ensure their cause has a voice and a chance at receiving a donation.
