Vision Support Services Receives Bronze Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme

Defence Employer Recognition Scheme

Vision is dedicated to observing the promise of the nation to support our Armed Forces through honouring the Armed Forces Covenant and it is with great pride that we announce we have received a bronze award as a result of our commitment to these principles.

The Armed Forces Covenant represents a promise by the nation that those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated fairly. All 407 local authorities in mainland Great Britain and four Northern Ireland councils have pledged to uphold the Armed Forces Covenant. To date over 4,000 organisations have signed the covenant, including businesses and charities.

Vision signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2016 and some of the pledges we have made include a pledge to armed forces day, flexible leave for spouses, promoting an armed forces-friendly position as well as supporting UK cadets, UK reservists, UK service spouses and partners and UK service veterans and leavers.

The Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) recognises commitment and support from UK employers for defence personnel. The scheme comprises bronze, silver and gold awards for employers who support those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families.

The bronze accreditation means that Vision has outlined its commitment to upholding all the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, promote being armed forces-friendly and we’re open to employing reservists, armed forces veterans (including wounded, injured or sick), cadet instructors and military spouses or partners.

The bronze award, which is self-nominated, also means that Vision receives an electronic certificate to display on our website and other collateral, thus inspiring other businesses to do the same.
