Vision at Care & Dementia Show 2016

Earlier this week, a team from Vision Support Services travelled down to Birmingham to exhibit at the Care & Dementia Show 2016. It’s one of the most important events of the year for care industry professionals across the UK, and Vision was excited to be part of it.

Taking place across two days on the 10th and 11th October, the popular show saw 2,459 industry professionals pour into the NEC in Birmingham to take advantage of this great event. Over 250 suppliers, including Vision, were showcasing their products and services to a crowd eager to learn and network with likeminded individuals.

Setting up at stand J36, Vision was there to showcase the latest products in our specialist textiles Whitakers range. This included our brand new Flame Retardant Satin Stripe Bed Linen set, which is designed to meet British and European standards, comes in attractive white or cream and is ideal for use in a healthcare setting. The big benefit of our flame retardant fabric is that it will self-extinguish if it catches alight, giving people ample time to evacuate. This is particularly important for healthcare premises as those inside will be less mobile.

As well as fire retardant linen, the team were also on hand to discuss the various services that Vision can offer to the care sector. The biggest talking point was our award-winning interior design services with a prestigious background, such as our work with Anchor Care Homes, BUPA, and our dementia design work that is supported by research from Stirling University. We also discussed our product sourcing service, which sources products from manufacturing partners across the world that are only delivered once they have passed Vision’s strict quality checks.

The stand went down well with visitors, with the Vision team having productive meetings and conversations with both existing and prospective clients, making the most of the great opportunity to meet and network with hardworking people within the care industry. Of particular interest was the flame retardant linen on display. Everyone within the care industry wants to create a safer environment for their residents, so they were definitely eager to learn more about it.

Vision National Accounts Manager, Liz O’Keeffe, said the following about the show: “We were very impressed with the Care and Dementia Show it was exactly the sort of event we were hoping for, allowing us to meet existing customers and potential new clients who were engaged and interested in our products and services. The venue and atmosphere were both fantastic, and hopefully, we’ll see some great business results off the back of the event.”

Chris Edwards, Brand Director at UBM, the organisers of the show, confirmed that the show had been a great success: “The Care & Dementia Show 2016 was a great success with packed seminar theatres, busy aisles and over 200 meetings held in our brand new matchmaking forum. We were particularly happy with the launch of ‘Care in Construction’ which lead to an increase of nearly 40% in construction specifiers at the show”.
