Vision’s Bed Linen Officially Certified Eco-Friendly

Vision’s prestigious suppliers have been granted the Standard 100 OEKO-TEX® certification to highlight their safe and sustainable manufacturing methods.

Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® is an independent product label for all types of textiles which have been tested for harmful substances. This mark of quality proves that the fabric has been tested and certified to be free from harmful levels of over 100 substances known to be detrimental to human health.

The certification is a comprehensive and thorough way of testing as it includes each piece of the garment from stitching to zips to buttons to coatings and Vision is delighted to announce that the suppliers who create their laundry bed linen collection have been given the Standard 100 certification meaning these eco-friendly ranges have been accredited with a third-party mark recognising their ethical and sustainable properties.

Vision works with a number of suppliers and factories across the world and all OEKO-TEX® accredited factories have supplied Vision with these eco-friendly and sustainable ranges.

The Oeko-Tex certification is conducted by independent third party testing laboratories and takes s into account every conceivable way that harmful substances can enter and affect the body. It’s also a global standard meaning it’s the same in any country making it an effective and robust accreditation across the world.

The Fusaro bed linen collection, for example, is one of Vision’s most popular ranges. It’s a 70/30 cotton rich blend featuring a 130 thread count. The cotton rich blend is easier to iron and quick to dry reducing laundering time and costs. As it’s made with polyester content, this increases durability ensuring it lasts longer and is cost-effective – perfect for repeated washing in a busy laundry.

Vision’s Monte Cristo bed linen range also benefits from being Standard 100 OEKO-TEX® certified. This 200-thread count, 100% cotton range is made from a high quality cotton fabric, made from long staple cotton for a smooth finish. It’s a finely woven bed linen with a balanced weave and features colour ID on duvet covers and sheets allowing for easy identification by housekeepers.

The Milano collection is a 70/30 cotton rich, high thread count (of 180) bed linen range and gives a good quality handle, ensuring the product looks great on the beds. It’s got an increased durability meaning it lasts and is cost effective for a housekeeper.  The satin stripe design provides a classic look whilst the easy to iron and quick drying fabric reduces all-important laundering costs.

The OEKO-TEX® standard has been in use around the world since 1992 and prohibits a long list of chemicals to be used in the manufacturing process including:

  • Carcinogenic and allergy-inducing dyes
  • Pesticides
  • Formaldehyde
  • Heavy metals
  • All flame retardants

Additionally, all OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics are required to have a skin friendly pH which will not leave human skin exposed to stresses, bacteria or irritation.

Vision’s strict corporate social responsibility program ensures that the company and its staff take their responsibility to their planet, their customers and their suppliers very seriously. They’ve implemented a strict program of ongoing assessments of working practices and ethical sourcing and adapt their operations to meet their growing list of commitments.
